The Education Enterprise Steering Committee was formed to partner with K-12 school districts, ESDs, community colleges, universities, the Oregon Department of Education and the Governor's Office. One of our efforts this year is to improve communication among the partner members, in part with this monthly "highlight" report. Here are highlights from the Jan. 8 meeting at Willamette ESD; all of the documents reviewed are available from the attachment list below.
--->The committee approved its new brand and logo. Thank you, Karen and Don!
--->The committee reviewed the Virtual Online School letter written by Dennis Dempsey. The primary audiences of the letter are the State Board of Education, ODE, COSA, OSBA, and all school districts.
--->Bob Burns, Mickey Garrison, and Don Wolff shared their reports. Bob Burns submitted his final administrative report as he heads into retirement; the committee thanked Bob for his accomplishments.
--->Ozzie Rose and Maureen Casey provided a legislative update regarding overall funding and the bleak state of economy for education.
--->EESC reviewed the proposal from the Center for Innovative School Facilities of Oregon. For more information on the center, contact Jeff Renfro, 503-223-4475.
