OEA and Training Dates
Attached is a fabulous “story” that features teachers from across our state and captures the great work they are doing to meet students’ needs. This story is a tribute to Oregon educators! Please recognize those from your region who were featured in this story and please share with others.
Below is updated EESC, Direct Access to Achievement (DATA) Project and COSA sponsored events scheduled for the 2010-11 school year. Here’s the line-up:
· August 11-12th COSA-EESC Eugene Hilton August Conference- the entire conference is focused on assessment, Direct Access to Achievement (DATA) and the high school diploma. Go to the COSA , EESC & DATA Project sites for additional information!!!
· October 4-5th SOESD Fall Conference-“Integrating Systems for Student Success” PBIS,RTI,PLC/Data Team!
· October 17-18th Fall Principals Conference go to the COSA site for more information
· October 19-20th, in Redmond, Strand 4 Roll-out “Formative Assessment: Impact on Teaching and Learning” featuring EasyCBM and ODE’s reading scoring guides and more! This session will be an initial training and at this time the “only” session scheduled for 2010-11. Participation in this session is required to become certified in Strand 4 in May 2011!
· November 5th, at Lane ESD, Team Initiated Problem Solving (TIPS) and Data Teams the Best of Both, Plus More! Participants will benefit from a morning session that looks closely at TIPS considerations and a powerful afternoon sessions that allow individuals to blend TIPS with Data Teams, PBIS, and RTI!!!
· January 27-28th COSA-Salishan Conference more information is posted on the COSA site.
· February 1-3rd , 2011 “CERTIFICATION Training” at Clackamas ESD ---Strand 2/3 or 3/4 certification training sessions. Participants must have attended one of the following initial trainings to become certified:
o State-wide 08-09 roll-out sessions of Strands 1-3
o The Redmond Institute June 21-23rd, 2010
o August 11 & 12th , 2010 COSA-EESC Eugene
o October 19 & 20th , 2010 Redmond Formative Assessment Training
o Or have evidence that they participated in an ongoing study group through their ESD
· April 12-14th, 2011 Strand 5 Roll-out “What are the Essential Skills and How Do You Conduct Performance Based Assessment?” at Clackamas ESD. This session will be the initial training and at this time the “only” session scheduled for 2010-11. Participation in this session is required to become certified in Strand 5!
· May 17-19th, 2011 Certification Training: Strands 2/3 or 4/5 at Clackamas ESD! Don’t miss it!!!

· August 1-3rd, 2011 COSA-EESC Conference-Celebrating Four Years of Direct Access to Achievement: The Impact and the Amazing Stories!
