Performance coaches take the next step

Seventeen ESD staff from across Oregon just completed an intense three-day certification training on the road to becoming "performance coaches." To get this far, coaches attended a three-day leadership institute last fall, then received six months of coaching themselves.

To complete the process, this cadre of coaches has nine more months of peer coaching, follow-up webinar sessions and one more day of intense training in the "Renewal Coaching" process. The Renewal Coaching framework provides these coaches with the skills and strategies to help organizations clarify their vision, establish strategies, and create action plans to execute those strategies.

The Oregon DATA Project, through the ODE, provided the funding for this experience and is looking to these performance coaches to support and sustain the work being done to close the achievement gap in Oregon.
